Assembly Engineering Intern

Role Summary

This internship supports data analysis and analytics projects that inform engineering and manufacturing decisions. The intern will work with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to collect, analyze, and visualize datasets to support process improvement and product development.

The role is on-site at the Kulim facility and involves hands-on work with data tools, model development, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver actionable insights.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Intended for current undergraduate students.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include data collection, analysis, modeling, visualization, and documentation to support engineering decisions.

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets using statistical methods and programming languages.
• Support development of data models, dashboards, and visualizations to improve decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to data-driven projects and storytelling.
• Apply data modeling techniques and analytics methodologies to address engineering problems.
• Document technical workflows, analyses, and findings for stakeholders.
• Participate in continuous learning and professional development activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the internship.

• Foundational knowledge of statistical analysis, data modeling techniques, and methodologies.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, R, or SQL.
• Experience with data analytics and mining tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or visualization libraries in Python).
• Experience in technical documentation and presenting analytical findings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Mechatronics Engineering; Data Science; Computer Science; Statistics; Mathematics; or a related field.
