Assembly and Test NPI Integrator
Role Summary
Coordinate and execute New Product Introduction (NPI) activities at the Penang Assembly and Test manufacturing facility to transition products from engineering builds into high-volume manufacturing. Serve as the primary integrator across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure readiness, schedule adherence, and product qualification.
This is an on-site role based in Penang, Malaysia.
Experience Level
Mid-level; minimum 5 years of relevant experience in NPI, manufacturing, technology transfer, or related engineering roles.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and tracking NPI execution and manufacturing readiness.
- Develop and maintain detailed NPI execution plans, including tasks, dependencies, estimates, and schedule tracking.
- Act as primary coordination point for NPI build execution across cross-functional teams.
- Track and publish Performance Against Schedule and ensure achievement of CSIs for milestones (Recipe Check Out, Power On, Engineering Sample, Quality Sample, Factory Certification, Manufacturing Validation).
- Ensure manufacturing readiness: system setup, process flow definition, material readiness, and capacity availability.
- Collaborate with technical experts to identify solutions and drive Design for Manufacturing alignment.
- Lead investigations of NPI issues, perform structured root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution and recovery actions.
- Document NPI deliverables including process flow, build routing, BOM, and qualification artifacts.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience to perform the role.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in NPI, manufacturing, technology transfer, or related engineering roles.
- Knowledge of assembly and/or test processes and technology-transfer methodologies.
- Familiarity with statistical data analysis for process and quality assessment.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and project coordination skills.
- Good English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate complex schedules.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical field; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
