Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Entry-level verification role on ASIC/SoC and GPU teams focused on validating design, architecture and micro-architecture. The engineer will develop verification infrastructure, exercise hardware/firmware interactions, and collaborate with architects, designers, and software engineers across sites.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” targeted at new college graduates (2026). Suitable for candidates with internship or recent academic project experience in verification or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include validating designs and building verification environments for memory and related subsystems.

  • Define verification scope and develop verification infrastructure and reusable components.
  • Create and execute verification tests using constrained/random stimulus and functional coverage.
  • Use assertion-based verification to validate micro-architecture behavior.
  • Verify firmware and hardware/firmware interactions; debug failing tests and system-level issues.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, firmware and software engineers to close verification goals.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience expected for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: Strong knowledge of verification methodology and creating reusable verification components.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with SystemVerilog and object-oriented verification techniques.
  • Must-have: Experience with random/constrained stimulus, functional coverage, and assertion-based verification.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with simulation and debug tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent, waveform/debug tools, GDB).
  • Must-have: Demonstrated debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to UVM or equivalent verification frameworks.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior verification experience with high-speed I/O protocols, memory coherence, or embedded firmware (C or RISC-V assembly).
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of embedded microcontrollers or RISC-V architecture; experience writing verification plans.

Education Requirements

Pursuing or recently completed a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
