ASIC Verification Engineer - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's verification team to validate SoC and GPU designs across consumer graphics, automotive, and AI product lines. The role focuses on functional verification, verification infrastructure, and hardware/firmware interaction validation for memory and related subsystems.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” targeted at new college graduates (recent or pending BS/MS/PhD completion in 2026) or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing and executing verification strategies, building infrastructure, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Define verification scope and develop verification plans for assigned blocks.
  • Design and implement verification infrastructure and reusable components for memory subsystem units.
  • Create and run directed and constrained-random tests; collect and analyze functional coverage.
  • Verify firmware and hardware/firmware interactions; assist in debugging firmware-related failures.
  • Work with architects, designers, and software engineers across sites to diagnose issues and close verification tasks.

Requirements

Core technical skills and tools expected for candidates.

  • Must-have: Knowledge of verification methodologies, including constrained-random stimulus, functional coverage, and assertions.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog and object-oriented verification coding practices.
  • Must-have: Experience with simulation and debug tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent simulators, debug tools such as Debussy/GDB) and verification environments (UVM or equivalent).
  • Must-have: Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior verification experience with high-speed I/O protocols or memory coherence.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience debugging embedded firmware (C or RISC-V assembly) and familiarity with embedded microcontrollers or RISC-V architecture.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience writing verification plans and verification automation.

Education Requirements

Pursuing or recently completed a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
