ASIC Verification Engineer, Low Power Audio Subsystems/AI

Role Summary

Work on verification of ultra-low-power audio and AI subsystems within SoCs, focusing on pre- and post-silicon verification, automation, and debug. The team integrates multiple always-on IP blocks and addresses power-domain crossing and low-power challenges.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early-career — typically 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, or related experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating and executing verification plans and maintaining scalable test infrastructure.

• Develop and execute verification test plans during pre- and post-silicon phases.
• Build and maintain testbenches, assertions, and functional coverage models with reuse and scalability in mind.
• Implement and improve automation flows for verification development and regression runs.
• Lead complex debug activities throughout the development cycle.
• Provide technical guidance to other engineers and collaborate closely with design teams to define verification methodology and tests.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.
• Experience with hardware verification languages (HVL) such as SystemVerilog testbench (UVM) and/or SystemC; familiarity with HDLs (Verilog, SystemVerilog).
• Working knowledge of C or C++.
• Strong understanding of digital circuits and event-driven simulators.
• Familiarity with bus/interconnect protocols (e.g., AHB, AXI) and CPU architectures (ARM v7/v8, cache, MMU) is useful.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with audio formats/processing (MP3, MIDI, etc.).
• Scripting and build tools: Perl, tcsh, Python, GNU Make.
• Experience with automotive safety concepts and standards such as ISO 26262.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science) is listed as the minimum qualification.
