ASIC Verification Engineer - Hybrid

Role Summary

Technical lead for ASIC verification focused on next-generation high-speed optical communication products. The role leads verification planning, testbench development, execution, and reporting to ensure delivery of complex ASICs.

Works with cross-functional teams to apply advanced verification methodologies, improve verification processes, and mentor verification engineers.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8+ years of relevant ASIC verification or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Lead verification activities for complex ASIC projects and provide technical direction to the verification team.

• Develop detailed verification plans, test strategies, and measurable coverage goals.
• Design, implement, and maintain verification testbenches using industry methodologies.
• Apply SystemVerilog/UVM and other verification techniques to validate RTL and IP.
• Supervise test execution, analyze results, and drive closure of verification issues.
• Review verification code, coverage metrics, and sign off on verification milestones.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members.
• Collaborate with design, firmware, and lab teams on integration and validation activities.
• Propose and implement process and tool improvements to increase verification efficiency and quality.

Requirements

Core technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

• 8+ years of ASIC verification experience or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven expertise in ASIC verification methodologies and verification planning.
• Strong experience with SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Proficiency in C++ and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Tcl) for testbench/tools development.
• Experience with in-house IP, digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms, and modulation techniques.
• Familiarity with formal verification tools and lab-based validation (preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring ability, and strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
