Job Title
ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Perform functional verification for ASIC IP/cluster/SOC blocks used in NVIDIA GPUs and Tegra SoCs. The role covers planning and executing verification campaigns, creating regression plans, and ensuring functional and code coverage closure across pre-silicon and post-silicon stages.
Work closely with hardware architects, designers, performance verification, FPGA, and software teams to validate RTL, run simulations and support silicon bring-up and debugging.
Experience Level
Entry-level. The posting requests 1+ years of relevant design/verification experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Own ASIC verification of IP/cluster units and complex RTL blocks.
- Create and execute regression plans and drive functional and code coverage closure.
- Perform pre-silicon validation (simulations such as XPROP, GLS) and support post-silicon verification and debug.
- Collaborate with hardware architects and designers to guide implementation and verification choices.
- Coordinate with performance verification and formal verification teams to augment verification strategies.
- Partner with FPGA and software teams to ensure software is exercised and validated on hardware.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 1+ years of design or verification experience.
- Experience in ASIC verification of complex design units on at least one or two projects.
- Familiarity with industry simulation and debug tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent simulators; debug tools such as Debussy, GDB).
- Exposure to SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodologies.
- Experience planning regressions and driving functional coverage closure; experience with pre-silicon validation workflows.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of memory controllers or verification of IP/clusters that access memory.
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell) for testbench automation and tooling.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
BS or MS degree, or equivalent practical experience. (The posting specifies "BS / MS or equivalent experience.")
