Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for the design, verification, and validation of VLSI/ASIC components and hardware systems within HPE platform teams. The role leads technical project teams and coordinates internal and outsourced partners to deliver reliable ASIC designs and prototypes. This is an onsite role based in Roseville, CA.

Experience Level

Mid-level; the posting requests approximately 6–10 years of experience in VLSI/ASIC design, verification, or implementation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include leading VLSI design and verification activities and ensuring quality and compliance across development.

  • Lead project teams of VLSI and electronic engineers and external development partners through all stages of ASIC design, validation, and testing.
  • Define and review architecture and logic design; develop and execute design verification strategies and simulations.
  • Review designs for compliance with VLSI technology and development guidelines; provide actionable feedback to improve product quality.
  • Provide platform-level architecture input and technical leadership across cross-organization initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers and contribute to selection and development of future technical leaders.
  • Drive integration of new VLSI technologies and innovations into projects and prototypes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted.

  • 6–10 years experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation.
  • Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
  • Experience with software programming in C or C++.
  • Strong knowledge of digital logic, computer architecture, and VLSI design practices.
  • Experience with EDA and FPGA tools and hardware description languages.
  • Nice-to-have: Specman knowledge; patents or publications in VLSI or hardware component design.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent; equivalent practical experience accepted. Coursework or background in VLSI design is expected.
