ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Perform verification of ASIC/VLSI designs as a member of a hardware engineering team. The role focuses on creating and executing verification environments, validating complex digital designs, debugging issues, and collaborating with internal and outsourced development partners.
This is a hybrid role (average 2 days per week in an HPE office) contributing to design verification, test planning, and delivery of reliable VLSI prototypes and products.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The position expects 3+ years of experience in VLSI verification using SystemVerilog and UVM.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include verification planning, environment development, simulation, and cross-team coordination.
- Design and implement verification environments and testbenches (SystemVerilog/UVM).
- Create and execute verification plans, directed and constrained-random tests, and regression suites.
- Simulate, debug, and isolate issues in ASIC/VLSI components and subsystems.
- Analyze verification results, coverage metrics, and drive closure of verification tasks.
- Collaborate with design, validation, and outsourced partners; communicate status and risks to management.
- Participate in design and code reviews; represent the verification team in cross-functional projects.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and support knowledge transfer.
Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on VLSI verification experience using SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Strong understanding of digital logic, VLSI principles, and computer architecture.
- Experience verifying and debugging integrated circuits, architectures, and algorithms.
- Proficiency with hardware description languages, scripting/programming, and EDA/FPGA tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience working with internal and outsourced development partners and in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with coverage-driven verification methodologies, test automation, or formal/static verification tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Coursework or background in VLSI design and concepts is expected.
