ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verification lead for VLSI components and hardware systems within HPE's engineering organization. Responsible for developing verification solutions, guiding architecture and validation, and coordinating internal and outsourced teams. This position is expected to work onsite at HPE's Sunnyvale, CA office.
Experience Level
Mid-level (6β10 years of VLSI design, verification, or implementation experience).
Responsibilities
Lead technical activities and teams across VLSI design, verification, and validation.
- Lead project teams of electronic and VLSI engineers and external partners through all stages of VLSI design and development.
- Develop and review design verification strategies and validation plans; implement simulation and test environments.
- Provide architecture-level input and platform leadership for cross-functional projects.
- Review designs for compliance with VLSI standards and provide actionable feedback to improve quality.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers; contribute to selection and development of future technical leaders.
- Drive integration of new technologies and VLSI innovation into product development.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 6β10 years of relevant VLSI design, verification, or implementation experience.
- Strong experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies.
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Tcl) and software experience in C/C++.
- Experience with EDA and FPGA tools and digital logic/VLSI design flows.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and experience translating architecture into implementable designs.
- Experience leading technical teams and collaborating with outsourced development partners.
- Nice-to-have: Specman knowledge and evidence of discipline leadership such as patents or publications.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience. Coursework or experience in VLSI design/concepts is expected.
