Job Title
Staff/Senior Staff Engineer - AMS Verification
Role Summary
Responsible for design verification of AMS IPs and SoCs, emphasizing functional, performance and power sign-off through simulation and behavioral/RNM modeling. Owns verification planning, testbench and test development, and verification closure while collaborating with Design, SoC, Validation, Synthesis and Power teams.
Opportunity to influence mixed-signal verification flows for low-power SoCs.
Experience Level
Senior — 10–15 years of industry experience.
Responsibilities
Execute and lead AMS verification activities from planning through closure.
- Define verification plans and top-level test strategies for AMS blocks and SoCs.
- Develop and maintain testbenches, self-checking tests and regression suites for mixed-signal verification.
- Create and validate high-performance behavioral/RNM models (Verilog-A/Verilog-AMS/Verilog-D).
- Perform analog and mixed-signal simulations (SPICE/Cadence) and extract/analyze results for peer review.
- Collaborate with Design, SoC, Synthesis, PD and Validation teams for design convergence and sign-off.
- Support silicon bring-up by comparing measurements to simulations and driving debug activities.
- Lead project teams and coordinate across multi-site development environments.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required; separated into must-have and nice-to-have.
-
Must-have: Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog and/or Verilog-AMS; experience with AMS simulation environments (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor).
-
Must-have: Strong understanding of analog circuits and digital design processes; experience with simulator/netlist flows and SPICE simulators.
-
Must-have: Experience with mixed-signal testbench development and verification methodologies; familiarity with UVM and assertions is advantageous.
-
Must-have: Excellent simulation debugging skills, waveform analysis and ability to identify issues in schematics, models or RTL.
-
Must-have: Proficient in Unix and shell scripting; basic Python knowledge.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with RNM/behavioral modeling, PMIC/DC-DC converters, and scripting in Perl/Skill/Tcl.
-
Nice-to-have: Mentoring experience, strong problem-solving, and effective written and oral communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
