Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer - Acacia (Hybrid)

Role Summary

Senior technical contributor on the Acacia ASIC verification team focused on next-generation 100G–1.6T coherent optical communications products. The role leads verification strategy and execution, develops verification infrastructure, and mentors engineers to ensure delivery of high-quality ASICs.

Experience Level

Senior-level technical lead. Minimum experience expectations: Bachelors + 8 years, Masters + 6 years, PhD + 3 years, or equivalent related work experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ownership of verification plans, test benches, and technical leadership across ASIC projects.

  • Lead and develop detailed, comprehensive verification test plans.
  • Design, implement, and maintain verification test benches.
  • Apply advanced verification techniques and methodologies to complex ASIC designs.
  • Supervise and coordinate execution of test plans across the verification team.
  • Review verification code, coverage metrics, and drive improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers on verification methods and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate latest test technologies and processes.

Requirements

  • Must-have: Strong experience with ASIC verification methodologies, tools, and scripting/programming languages.
  • Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented verification methodologies.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog/UVM and SystemC.
  • Proven ability to lead technical verification projects and mentor engineers.
  • Experience developing verification infrastructure, testbenches, and coverage-driven verification.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with DSP algorithms and modulation techniques (e.g., QAM), C++ templates, lab silicon validation, in-house IP development, and formal verification tools such as Jasper or VCFormal.

Education Requirements

Degree requirements: Bachelor's degree plus 8 years related experience, Master’s degree plus 6 years related experience, or PhD plus 3 years related experience; or equivalent related work experience. No specific field-of-study or certifications were specified in the posting.
