ASIC Verification Engineer - Acacia
Role Summary
Senior technical contributor and verification lead for next-generation 100Gβ1.6T coherent optical communications ASICs within Cisco's Acacia team. Responsible for designing and executing verification strategies, developing verification infrastructure, and providing technical leadership to the verification team.
This is a hybrid role with three days per week at Cisco's Maynard, MA office.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning, executing, and improving ASIC verification efforts and mentoring teammates.
- Lead development of detailed verification test plans and verification test benches.
- Design and apply advanced verification techniques to complex ASIC designs.
- Supervise and coordinate execution of test plans across the team.
- Review verification code and coverage metrics; drive improvements to achieve project goals.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate latest verification tools, processes, and test technologies.
- Operate independently to create verification solutions in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience required for the role; preferred items listed separately.
Must-have
- Experience with ASIC verification methodologies, tools, and scripting/programming languages.
- Proficiency in C++ (practical coding experience).
- Experience with SystemVerilog/UVM and SystemC.
- Knowledge of object-oriented verification methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-have
- Experience leading ASIC technical teams or acting as technical lead.
- Experience with DSP algorithms and modulation techniques (e.g., QAM) and in-house IP development.
- Familiarity with C++ templates and advanced C++ techniques.
- Lab silicon validation experience and hands-on silicon bring-up.
- Experience with Formal Verification methodologies and tools (e.g., Jasper, VCFormal).
- Track record of process or product innovations that improved verification outcomes.
Education Requirements
