ASIC Verification Engineer - Acacia
Role Summary
Senior technical contributor and verification lead for next-generation 100G–1.6T coherent optical communications ASICs within Cisco's Acacia team. Responsible for defining verification strategy, delivering high-quality verification solutions, and providing technical leadership to the ASIC verification team.

Responsibilities
Lead verification activities for complex ASIC projects and ensure delivery of thorough verification coverage and quality.
- Lead and develop detailed verification test plans and strategies.
- Design and implement verification testbenches and environments.
- Apply advanced verification techniques and methodologies to complex designs.
- Supervise and coordinate timely execution of test plans by the team.
- Review verification code, coverage metrics, and provide technical feedback.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and process improvements for the verification team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to adopt and integrate verification technologies and tools.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role; preferred items listed separately.
- Extensive experience with ASIC verification methodologies, tools, and related scripting/programming.
- Proficient in C++ and object-oriented verification methodologies.
- Experience with SystemVerilog/UVM and SystemC.
- Proven ability to design verification environments, debug complex issues, and deliver on schedule.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineers.
Nice-to-have / Preferred:
- Track record of innovation that produced measurable improvements.
- Experience with in-house IP development and leading ASIC technical teams.
- Familiarity with DSP algorithms and modulation techniques (e.g., QAM).
- Experience with C++ templates, lab silicon validation, and Formal Verification tools (e.g., Jasper, VCFormal).
Education Requirements
