Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer - Acacia

Role Summary

Technical lead role on the Acacia ASIC verification team focused on next-generation 100G–1.6T coherent optical communications products. The engineer will design and drive verification plans, develop verification environments, and provide technical leadership and mentoring to the team.

Work is on a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the Maynard, MA office.

Experience Level

Senior-level technical lead. Typical experience expectation: multiple years of ASIC verification experience (generally 7–10+ years; posting indicates senior/lead level).

Responsibilities

Lead verification strategy and execution for complex ASIC designs, ensure design quality, and support cross-functional delivery.

  • Lead development of detailed and comprehensive verification test plans.
  • Design, develop, and maintain verification testbenches and environments.
  • Apply advanced verification methodologies and innovative techniques to complex designs.
  • Supervise and coordinate execution of verification tasks across the team.
  • Review verification code, coverage metrics, and sign off on verification progress.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive process and tool improvements.
  • Collaborate with architects, design, and validation teams to integrate test technologies and processes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (education details are in Education Requirements below).

  • Proven experience with ASIC verification methodologies, tools, and scripting/programming languages.
  • Experience with C++ and object-oriented verification methodologies.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog/UVM and SystemC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to lead technical projects independently.

Preferred / nice-to-have:

  • Experience leading ASIC technical teams and in-house IP development.
  • Experience with DSP algorithms and modulation techniques (e.g., QAM).
  • C++ templates and advanced C++ usage.
  • Lab silicon bring-up and validation experience.
  • Experience with Formal Verification tools and methodologies (e.g., Jasper, VCFormal).
  • Track record of innovations that yield measurable improvements.

Education Requirements

Posting specifies: Bachelor's degree plus 8 years related experience, or Master's plus 6 years, or PhD plus 3 years, or equivalent related work experience. (Degrees and the "or equivalent practical experience" option are required as stated.)
