Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for planning and implementing IP/cluster/SoC functional verification for graphics processors and Tegra SoCs. Work includes creating regression plans, driving functional and code-coverage closure, and performing pre-silicon validation activities (e.g., XPROP simulations, GLS).

The role requires close collaboration with hardware architects, designers, performance verification, FPGA and software teams, and participation in post-silicon verification and debug.

Experience Level

Mid-level; typically requires 2+ years of relevant design or verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties involve end-to-end ASIC verification of complex RTL blocks and enabling system-level validation.

  • Own ASIC verification of IP/cluster blocks and complex RTL designs.
  • Create, execute, and maintain regression plans and verification environments to achieve functional and code coverage goals.
  • Perform pre-silicon validation activities such as XPROP simulations and GLS.
  • Collaborate with hardware architects and designers to guide implementation and resolve design issues.
  • Work with performance verification and formal teams to augment verification through dynamic simulations and formal techniques.
  • Partner with FPGA and software teams to ensure software is tested on hardware platforms.
  • Participate in post-silicon verification and hardware debug.

Requirements

Minimum and preferred qualifications for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: Minimum 2+ years of design or verification experience; hands-on ASIC verification experience on at least one or two complex projects.
  • Must-have: Experience with verification and debug tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent simulators; debug tools such as Debussy, GDB).
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodology.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of memory controllers or verification of IP/clusters that access memory.
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell) and strong debugging/problem-solving abilities.
  • Nice-to-have: Good interpersonal and team collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

BS or MS degree is requested, or equivalent practical experience (posting specifies "BS / MS or equivalent experience").
