Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification activities for complex VLSI/ASIC components used in HPE systems. Collaborate with architecture, design, test, and external partners to define verification strategy, implement testbenches and simulations, and ensure designs meet quality and production requirements. This role is expected to work primarily onsite in an HPE office.

Experience Level

Mid-level (approximately 6–10 years of experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation).

Responsibilities

Accountable for verification delivery, technical leadership, and cross-team coordination for ASIC projects.

  • Lead project teams of VLSI/Electronic engineers and external development partners through design, validation, and testing phases.
  • Define and execute verification plans, testbenches, and simulation strategies for ASIC components and subsystems.
  • Review and evaluate designs for compliance with VLSI development guidelines and standards; provide actionable feedback to improve quality.
  • Provide architecture-level input and platform leadership for cross-organization initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain automation and scripts to support verification flows and EDA toolchains.
  • Mentor and guide less-experienced engineers; contribute to selection and development of future technical leaders.
  • Drive integration of new technologies and improvements into VLSI design and verification processes.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

  • Extensive experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation (6–10 years preferred).
  • Proficient with Verilog/SystemVerilog and transaction-level verification methodologies (UVM).
  • Programming experience in C or C++ for verification-related tooling.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl for automation and tool integration.
  • Hands-on experience with EDA tools and FPGA tool flows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication.
  • Experience leading engineering teams and working with outsourced development partners.

Nice-to-have:

  • Specman knowledge.
  • Patents or publications in VLSI/Electronic hardware design and tools.
  • Experience with physical implementation/layout and multidimensional VLSI design.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience. Coursework or demonstrable experience in VLSI design or VLSI concepts is expected.
