ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verification lead for VLSI/ASIC projects within HPE's hardware engineering organization. The role drives architecture, verification strategy, and cross-team technical execution for complex ASIC components and platforms.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 6β10 years of relevant VLSI design, verification, or implementation experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for technical leadership across VLSI design and verification activities; mentors staff and coordinates internal and outsourced partners.
- Lead project teams of electronic and VLSI engineers through design, validation, and testing phases.
- Review and evaluate designs for compliance with VLSI technology, standards, and quality objectives.
- Define and drive verification strategy, architecture integration, and platform-level technical direction.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical oversight to less-experienced engineers.
- Integrate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve VLSI solutions and productivity.
- Contribute to selection and development of future technical leaders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; items listed as "plus" are desirable but not required.
- 6β10 years' experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation.
- Proven experience with Verilog / SystemVerilog and industry-standard verification methodologies (UVM).
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
- Experience with software programming languages (C or C++).
- Familiarity with EDA and FPGA tool flows for design and verification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication.
- Specman knowledge and publications/patents in VLSI or hardware design are a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Posting also references coursework in VLSI concepts.
