ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Plan and implement functional verification for ASIC IP/cluster/SOC used in NVIDIA GPUs and Tegra SoCs. The role covers regression planning, functional coverage closure, pre-silicon validation (simulations) and post-silicon debug.
Work within the verification team and with hardware architects, performance verification, FPGA and software teams to ensure correct RTL behavior and enable software testing.
Experience Level
Entry-level — typically 1+ years of relevant ASIC design or verification experience.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on ASIC verification across pre- and post-silicon phases. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead verification of IP/cluster RTL and execute verification plans and regressions.
- Develop and close functional and code coverage metrics.
- Collaborate with hardware architects and designers to influence implementation choices.
- Coordinate with performance verification and formal teams to augment verification.
- Enable FPGA and software teams; ensure software is exercised during verification.
- Participate in post-silicon bring-up, validation and debug.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 1+ years of ASIC design or verification experience working on complex design units.
- Experience with verification and debug tools such as VCS (or equivalent) and debug tools like Debussy/GDB.
- Hands-on experience verifying RTL and running regression suites.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to SystemVerilog and UVM methodology.
- Knowledge of memory controller verification or IP/cluster access-to-memory experience.
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl, shell) and strong interpersonal/teamwork skills.
Education Requirements
BS or MS degree preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
