ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Designs and verifies complex VLSI/ASIC components and leads cross-functional project teams through architecture, simulation, verification and prototype-to-production stages. Role involves technical leadership, design review, and coordination with internal and outsourced development partners. Onsite role based in Roseville, CA.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting requests approximately 6β10 years of experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation.
Responsibilities
Accountable for technical direction and delivery of VLSI/ASIC projects; provides design and verification leadership and mentors less-experienced engineers.
- Lead project teams of VLSI/electronic engineers and outsourced partners across all stages of VLSI design and development.
- Define architecture and logic design; develop and run component and system simulations for design verification.
- Develop verification environments, testbenches and validation workflows using industry methodologies.
- Review and evaluate designs for compliance with VLSI technology and development standards; provide actionable feedback to improve product quality.
- Drive integration of new technologies and VLSI innovation into projects.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and input into selection of future technical leaders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Proven experience in VLSI/ASIC verification and implementation; strong digital logic and computer architecture knowledge.
- Proficient with Verilog / SystemVerilog and Universal Verification Methodology (UVM).
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl or Tcl.
- Experience with software programming in C or C++.
- Familiarity with EDA and FPGA tool flows for design and verification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Nice to have: Specman knowledge; patents or publications in VLSI/hardware design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field; coursework in VLSI design. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
