ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead development and execution of verification strategies for digital blocks, cores, and subsystems. Collaborate with systems engineers and architects to ensure comprehensive validation across simulation, formal, and coverage domains.
Work within a small engineering team (~15 people) on a contract-to-hire basis to deliver verified digital ASIC subsystems for the product family.

Responsibilities
Primary duties include planning, implementing, and managing verification activities and coordinating with partner teams.
- Develop and implement verification strategies for functional blocks, cores, and subsystems using simulation, formal, and coverage techniques.
- Create, review, and optimize simulation environment components and test scenarios.
- Define formal verification test plans and drive formal proof efforts where appropriate.
- Serve as ASIC Verification Prime, managing verification of digital components and coordinating cross-team coverage.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews to advise on verification impacts and improvements.
- Estimate schedules, track progress, and provide regular status updates.
- Lead or mentor small teams or focused groups as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and tools required for success; additional items are listed as nice-to-have.
- Must-have: Expert-level experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, SVA, and commercial simulators.
- Must-have: Proven ability to define comprehensive digital verification and coverage strategies; experience with simulation, formal, and coverage-driven validation.
- Must-have: Strong organization and clear written and verbal English communication.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with DSP and Forward Error Correction (FEC).
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Git for source control and Jira for issue tracking.
- Nice-to-have: Scripting and programming skills (Python, Make, bash); familiarity with C/C++ and object-oriented programming beneficial.
- Work style: Self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
Education Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
