Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Plan and implement functional verification for IP/cluster/SoC designs used in NVIDIA Graphics processors and Tegra SoCs. The role focuses on creating regression plans, achieving functional and code coverage, running pre‑silicon validation, and supporting post‑silicon debug.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Typical expectation: 1+ years of ASIC or RTL design/verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include coordinating verification activities across design, performance, FPGA and software teams and executing verification plans.

  • Own ASIC verification of IP/cluster RTL for complex design blocks.
  • Define and implement regression plans and drive functional and code coverage closure.
  • Collaborate with hardware architects and designers on implementation and verification tradeoffs.
  • Coordinate with performance verification and formal teams to augment coverage.
  • Support pre‑silicon validation activities (e.g., XPROP simulations, GLS) and post‑silicon verification/debug.
  • Enable FPGA and software teams to validate software on hardware platforms.

Requirements

Must-have technical qualifications and relevant experience; followed by desirable skills.

  • Must-have: 1+ years of design or verification experience; experience verifying complex ASIC design units across one or more projects.
  • Must-have: Experience with verification and debug tools (e.g., Synopsys VCS or equivalent; debuggers such as Debussy, GDB).
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to SystemVerilog and UVM methodology for ASIC verification.
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell) and prior verification of memory‑accessing IP or memory controllers.
  • Effective debugging, problem‑solving, and teamwork/interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements

BS or MS degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
