ASIC Test Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain test programs and automation for SSD and UFS controller ASICs to ensure product quality, improve test efficiency, and reduce manufacturing cost. Work on test development, yield improvement, and cross-functional collaboration with product, equipment, and design teams.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include:

  • Develop and enhance test programs for SSD and UFS controller products to ensure outgoing quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize test programs and methodologies to reduce test time and manufacturing cost.
  • Automate test engineering processes by writing scripts and tools to improve throughput and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product, equipment, and design teams to improve yields, equipment efficiency, and implement design-for-test features.
  • Develop and monitor process and engineering metrics to ensure stability and effectiveness of test processes.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights where appropriate to improve efficiency and quality, while exercising sound judgment and compliance with standards.

Requirements

Must-have and useful skills for the role.

  • Must-have: Strong software development interest and programming skills (examples: Python, C/C++); ability to write automation scripts and tools.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and test flow concepts.
  • Must-have: Experience with data analysis and yield/characterization reporting tools (examples: Excel VBA, JMP, Galaxy, Data Conductor).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in digital, analog, or mixed-signal test programming and debugging; familiarity with test IP blocks (PLL, efuse, LDOs, PCIe, DDR, ONFI) and DFT patterns (ATPG, SCAN, MemBIST, JTAG, functional patterns).
  • Nice-to-have: Test program development experience on logic ATE platforms such as UltraFlex, J750, E320, Advantest 93K.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
