ASIC Senior Principal Engineer - Design Verification
Role Summary
Lead and manage a team responsible for the full lifecycle of complex VLSI/ASIC design and verification, from architecture and logic design through verification, validation and production-ready implementation. The role reports to senior engineering leadership and coordinates across program management, supply chain, partners and stakeholders.
This position is onsite with an expectation to work primarily from an HPE office in Bengaluru.
Experience Level
Senior level. Typically requires 12+ years of related VLSI/ASIC experience, including 5+ years of people management.
Responsibilities
Accountable for technical leadership, delivery and people management across multiple VLSI projects and programs.
- Provide leadership and direction for engineers and project teams covering design, verification, validation and testing of ASICs/VLSI products.
- Define architecture and logic design approaches and ensure rigorous design verification through simulation and validation tools.
- Manage program execution: headcount, schedules, budgets, risks and resource allocation across concurrent projects.
- Drive collaboration with external partners and suppliers to ensure deliverables, quality and schedule adherence.
- Report program status, escalate issues, and influence technical and strategic decisions with executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Own hiring, performance plans, coaching, career development and promotion processes for the lab or organization.
- Lead process improvement and cost-optimization initiatives for lab and program execution.

- Mastery of architecture and logic design for complex integrated circuits and systems.
- Expertise in design verification methodologies and simulation-based verification for component and system-level validation.
- Proven experience delivering physical implementations and familiarity with IC layout considerations.
- Strong leadership: coaching, team building, conflict resolution and performance management.
- Advanced project management skills: scheduling, risk management, resource prioritization and program structuring.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and executive-level written and verbal communication skills (English and local language).
Nice to have:
- Experience managing multiple large-scale VLSI programs and supplier relationships.
- Prior responsibility for lab-wide processes, budgets or organization-wide technical capability building.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent; advanced university degree preferred. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable where noted.
