ASIC RTL Design Engineer
Nordic SemiconductorJob Title
ASIC RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
As a front-end ASIC/RTL engineer on the Wi‑Fi SoC team you will implement and verify digital IP blocks and subsystems, drive SoC integration, and support tape-out. You will collaborate with architecture, verification, software, DFT, and implementation teams to deliver low-power Wi‑Fi SoCs.
Experience Level
Mid-level / Experienced. The posting lists an experienced level; no specific years of experience are specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities cover RTL development, verification, and SoC integration across the digital design flow.
- Implement and maintain RTL for IP blocks and subsystems through to tape-out.
- Integrate and verify IPs and subsystems within SoCs, ensuring functionality and performance targets are met.
- Develop and maintain verification environments and drive coverage-driven functional verification and sign-off.
- Implement and optimize low-power design techniques and UPF flows.
- Support synthesis, static timing analysis (STA), FPGA prototyping, and pre-silicon validation.
- Investigate and resolve LEC and VCLP violations as part of design quality sign-off.
- Produce technical specifications, documentation, and provide mentoring to colleagues.
Requirements
Key technical skills and tools required; concise list of must-haves and relevant experience.
- Proven experience in digital IC design, verification, synthesis, STA, or pre-silicon prototyping.
- Strong understanding of RTL design and verification principles and the end-to-end digital design flow.
- Knowledge of RTL implementation flows and downstream constraints: synthesis, timing, clock-domain crossing, low-power/UPF and DFT.
- Proficiency in hardware description languages: SystemVerilog, Verilog and VHDL.
- Experience running and debugging LEC and VCLP violations for design sign-off.
- Familiarity with functional verification and coverage-driven sign-off; experience with industry EDA toolchains.
- Scripting skills (Tcl, Python) and comfort working in a Linux environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electronics Engineering (or similar) is specified in the posting.
