Job Title

ASIC RTL Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and deliver production-quality RTL for ASIC IP used in 5G infrastructure. Work within Ericsson Silicon's ASIC IP team on RTL design, verification, integration, and PPA optimization across product and backend teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” several years of industry RTL design experience as indicated in the posting.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Write, review, and verify clean, production-ready RTL.
  • Translate specifications into synthesizable RTL and take designs to silicon.
  • Analyze and optimize circuits for area, power, and timing on advanced process nodes.
  • Use EDA tools for simulation, linting, CDC analysis, and timing verification.
  • Integrate 3rd-party IP and collaborate with backend teams to close synthesis, area, and timing.
  • Debug and resolve complex system and integration issues across disciplines.

Requirements

Required technical skills and experience:

  • Several years of hands-on industry RTL design experience at block and/or top level.
  • Strong foundation in digital logic design and timing verification.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Strong command of C/C++, TCL, and/or Python.
  • Deep understanding of clock domain crossing (CDC) and static timing analysis (STA).
  • Hands-on experience with RTL linting and CDC tools (e.g., Synopsys SpyGlass or peers).
  • Familiarity with EDA toolchains (Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys) and Linux/Git environments.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with AMBA interfaces (APB, AXI, ACE-Lite, CHI).
  • Background in computer architecture, VLSI systems, or IP such as SerDes, PCIe, ARM subsystems, DSPs, accelerators, or Ethernet.
  • Experience with advanced process node PPA optimizations.

Education Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required. No other degree fields or equivalent-experience language specified.
