Job Title
ASIC RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Work in Ericsson Silicon's ASIC IP organization designing production-quality RTL for ASICs used in 5G infrastructure. Responsibilities include RTL design, verification, integration, and PPA (power, performance, area) optimization across the development flow.
This position follows a hybrid schedule based in Austin, TX; it is not a fully remote role.
Experience Level
Mid-level β several years of industry RTL design experience (exact years not specified).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop, simulate, and verify clean, production-ready RTL from specification to silicon.
- Integrate third-party IP and internal blocks at block and top level.
- Analyze and optimize circuits for area, timing, and power on advanced process nodes.
- Use EDA toolchains for synthesis, linting, CDC checks, and timing closure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and backend teams to meet synthesis, area, and timing targets.
Requirements
Must-haves:
- Several years of hands-on industry experience in RTL design (block and/or top level).
- Strong foundation in digital logic design.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL.
- Experience with clock domain crossing (CDC) and static timing analysis (STA).
- Hands-on experience with RTL linting and CDC tools (for example Synopsys SpyGlass or peers).
- Familiarity with C/C++, TCL, and/or Python for tooling and testbench tasks.
- Experience with EDA workflows and working in Git/Linux environments.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with AMBA interfaces (APB, AXI, ACE-Lite, CHI).
- Background in computer architecture, VLSI systems, SerDes, PCIe, ARM subsystems, DSPs, accelerators, or Ethernet IP.
- Experience with Cadence, Mentor, or Synopsys toolchains.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is specified in the posting.
