ASIC Physical Designer IV
Role Summary
Implement RF and analog custom transistor-level layouts, run verification, and deliver clean designs for extraction and simulation. The role is part of the Physical Design team supporting mixed-signal/RF ASIC projects at advanced nodes.
Work closely with circuit designers and verification engineers to ensure manufacturability and performance targets are met.
Experience Level
Mid-level — approximately 5 years of relevant custom RF/analog physical design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include layout implementation, verification, and maintaining a clean design database.
- Implement RF and analog custom layouts according to design specifications.
- Run and debug verification flows (LVS, DRC, ERC) and resolve errors.
- Prepare and hand off layouts for extraction and simulation.
- Maintain organized hierarchy and clean design databases per process rules.
- Collaborate with designers and verification engineers to meet performance and manufacturability goals.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Approximately 5 years custom RF and analog physical design experience in a Cadence environment.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso XL.
- Experience using Calibre for verification and extraction.
- Experience with foundry 28nm process technology.
- Experience with multi-GHz RF layout techniques.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux tools and scripting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering preferred.
