Job Title

ASIC Physical Design Engineer, Netlisting — New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's physical design team in Austin to support netlist-focused signoff and implementation for high-performance CPUs, GPUs and SoCs. The role delivers RTL-to-tapeout equivalence and supports timing closure, ECOs, and reliability analyses.

Work closely with architects, RTL designers, and verification teams to ensure functional and timing correctness through tapeout.

Experience Level

Entry-level — new college graduate (2026).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include netlist-related physical design activities and verification tasks.

  • Drive netlist-focused physical design for high-frequency and low-power CPUs, GPUs, and SoCs.
  • Perform logic equivalence checking, asynchronous checking, and MTBF analysis.
  • Support ECO generation and implementation to address design changes and timing issues.
  • Collaborate with RTL, architecture, and verification teams to close timing and resolve functional mismatches.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation for EDA flows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Knowledge of logic equivalence checking and formal verification from RTL to tapeout.
  • Hands-on RTL/logic design experience focused on timing closure.
  • Experience with clock-domain-crossing checking and MTBF analysis using EDA tools.
  • Background in logic synthesis at block or full-chip level.
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming: Perl, Tcl, Make, and Python.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, engineering-driven environment.

Education Requirements

Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
