ASIC Manufacturing Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for transferring ASIC designs into production with OSAT partners and foundries, improving manufacturing yield, and ensuring product quality and on-time delivery. Works closely with design, process, equipment, and test teams to identify and resolve production issues and optimize throughput.

Responsibilities

Primary activities include driving yield, resolving manufacturing incidents, and collaborating with suppliers and design teams.

• Interface with ASIC design teams to transfer products to production using OSAT partners and foundries.
• Monitor and improve ASIC yields; drive closure of manufacturing incidents.
• Analyze statistical test data and ATE logs to identify manufacturing limiters, wafer anomalies, or contamination.
• Perform failure analysis on defective processes to isolate process or design flaws.
• Collaborate with process, equipment, and physical design teams to implement production-line improvements and maximize wafer utilization.
• Work with foundries and OSAT vendors to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.
• Create and maintain specifications, process documentation, and best-known methods.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools.

• Proficiency in statistical data analysis and interpretation of automated test equipment (ATE) logs.
• Hands-on experience with wafer grind and dice processes.
• Experience with SQL and SAP for data tracking and reporting.
• Knowledge of wafer sort/final test protocols and fabless supply chain operations.
• Experience performing failure analysis and implementing corrective actions in production.

Nice-to-have: prior OSAT or foundry vendor experience, advanced test engineering or reliability experience.

Education Requirements

Minimum B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related semiconductor field.
