Job Title
ASIC Implementation Engineer - Static Verification
Role Summary
Frontend implementation engineer on the Infrastructure team working on ASIC front-end flows from RTL to netlist. The role focuses on static verification (CDC, RDC, lint), RTL DFT analysis, synthesis, and developing automation and methodology to enable efficient SoC and IP delivery for data-center applications.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Posting specifies a minimum of 2+ years of experience in static verification tools.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include static verification, front-end optimization, and cross-team support for handoff tasks.
- Perform flat and hierarchical Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) analysis and signoff; work with designers to resolve complex CDC issues.
- Perform flat and hierarchical Reset Domain Crossing (RDC) checks; develop reset groups and reset sequences with design and firmware teams.
- Run RTL lint and coordinate waivers with designers.
- Perform RTL DFT analysis and improve stuck-at fault coverage.
- Run logic/physical synthesis with advanced optimizations to generate optimized gate-level netlists for timing, area, and power.
- Develop automation scripts and methodology for front-end tools (lint, CDC, RDC).
- Collaborate with design, verification, emulation, and physical design engineers to support handoffs and provide timing/congestion feedback.
Requirements
Concise list of required and preferred qualifications.
-
Must-have: 2+ years of experience with static verification tools and front-end ASIC flows.
- Experience with lint, CDC and RDC analysis, and SOC CDC signoff.
- Knowledge of SoC integration topics (clocking, reset architectures, PLLs) and RTL design in SystemVerilog or other HDL.
- Experience communicating and collaborating across internal functional teams and external vendors.
-
Nice-to-have: Netlist-CDC analysis experience, improving MTBF, knowledge of timing/physical libraries and SRAM memories.
- Scripting and programming experience (Perl, Python, TCL, Make) and experience developing structural rule-based checks for RTL and netlist.
- Familiarity with tools such as Design Compiler, Spyglass, PrimeTime, Formality or equivalents.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
