Job Title

ASIC Gen-AI Data Scientist

Role Summary

Work within the ASIC Technical Products Engineering organization to design, prototype, and scale GenAI, machine learning, and analytics solutions that improve semiconductor engineering productivity, quality, cost, and cycle time.

Collaborate with system architects, logic and analog designers, data scientists, and IT to deliver practical AI-driven tools for pre- and post-silicon workflows.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical background: Bachelor's +4 years or Master's +2 years in a relevant technical field; minimum 2 years hands-on experience developing and deploying AI applications in semiconductor, electronics, or other engineering industries.

Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end GenAI and ML solutions for ASIC engineering workflows and support their operationalization.

  • Design and build GenAI/agentic systems for ASIC workflows: code generation, data extraction, documentation automation, failure triage, root-cause analysis, and knowledge retrieval.
  • Build, evaluate, and optimize LLM workflows including prompting, skill development, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG and Graph-RAG), benchmarking, and quality evaluation.
  • Develop and productionize machine learning and deep learning models for classification, regression, anomaly detection, failure analysis, and decision support.
  • Support deployment, monitoring, and operationalization of AI/ML solutions in cloud and enterprise environments.
  • Partner with domain experts and cross-functional teams to translate engineering problems into scalable AI/ML solutions.
  • Communicate technical findings and model outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Key must-have skills and additional preferred skills.

  • Must-have: Minimum 2 years hands-on experience developing and deploying AI applications in semiconductor, electronics, or other engineering industries.
  • Must-have: Strong programming proficiency in Python.
  • Must-have: Practical experience building and launching AI/ML systems involving LLMs, including RAG and agentic workflows, and performing model evaluation and benchmarking.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with modern AI coding tools and agentic coding harnesses (examples: Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI or similar).
  • Nice-to-have: Cloud production experience (GCP, AWS, Azure) and deploying ML pipelines.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with data analytics and visualization libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, plotly) and web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with LLM training, inference, prompt design, benchmarking, validation, or retrieval-augmented systems.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with document-processing pipelines, technical knowledge platforms, or retrieval systems for engineering content.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 4+ years' relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
