Job Title

ASIC Engineering Technical Leader

Role Summary

Hands-on technical leader responsible for defining, architecting, designing, and productizing high-performance mixed-signal ASICs and related subsystems for optical engines used in AI/datacenter applications. Works within the Silicon One Optics team focused on EIC and PIC optical engines.

Primary mission: drive architecture and methodology for scalable, production-ready ASIC solutions across multiple product lines.

Experience Level

Senior. Position requires substantial industry experience as indicated by minimum qualification bands (see Education Requirements): typically 12+ years with a Bachelor's, 8+ years with a Master's, or 5+ years with a PhD.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own architecture and specification for blocks, subsystems, or DFT frameworks and drive them from definition through productization.
  • Lead project-level design efforts and scale methodology across product lines.
  • Define and implement verification strategies for high-speed digital and custom analog/mixed-signal blocks.
  • Collaborate with library, process, PnR, Test Engineering, and Operations to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Develop reusable IP, design patterns, and automated flows/scripts to increase team productivity.
  • Lead technical engagements with EDA tool vendors and IP suppliers.
  • Apply AI/agent-based scripting and automation to verification, debug, and bring-up flows to accelerate time-to-market.
  • Mentor engineers and drive best practices for design-for-test, verification, and production readiness.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in architecture, definition, and hands-on design of high-performance mixed-signal ASICs or closely related domains.
  • Strong background in verification strategy and implementation for both high-speed digital and custom analog blocks.
  • Experience creating automation, flows, and scripts to support design, verification, and tapeout cycles.
  • Track record of cross-functional collaboration with process, PnR, test, and operations teams to deliver production-quality silicon.
  • Experience managing technical vendor and IP relationships.
  • Practical use of AI or agent-based tools to improve verification/debug productivity is desirable.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications as stated by the employer: Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of related experience, or Master's degree plus 8 years of related experience, or PhD plus 5 years of related experience.
