ASIC Engineering Intern, Networking Chip Design - 2027
Role Summary
Intern on NVIDIA's Switch Silicon (Networking) design team in Shanghai supporting implementation, verification and infrastructure for high-speed network switch ASICs. The role focuses on hands-on tasks across the full-chip flow, test infrastructure, and cross-team integration.
Experience Level
Entry-level intern. Intended for current undergraduate or graduate students with limited industry experience (typically 0–3 years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities during the internship include:
- Learn and support the full-chip design and verification flow; contribute to automation for improved efficiency.
- Develop and maintain test facilities and verification infrastructure to ensure product quality.
- Work within combined design and verification teams to implement and validate RTL and testbenches.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Micro-Architecture, and Firmware teams to integrate and verify features.
- Debug issues across the design/verification flow under mentor guidance.
Requirements
Core qualifications and desirable skills.
- Must-have: Team player with fast learning ability and good communication/interpersonal skills.
- Must-have: Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in RTL design or RTL verification.
- Nice-to-have: Strong scripting skills; experience with Python or Perl is a plus.
Education Requirements
Pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field (undergraduate or graduate enrollment required).
