ASIC Engineer Intern, Design
Role Summary
Meta Infrastructure is hiring an ASIC Design Engineering intern to work on accelerator IPs for data center systems. The role involves participation in micro-architecture, RTL/HLS design, verification, and post-silicon validation to improve power, performance, and area (PPA).
This is a supervised internship where you will work alongside senior engineers on design and verification tasks. Internships are 12 to 16 weeks long.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Intended for current students or those in a degree program; no specific professional years-of-experience required. Internship duration: 12–16 weeks.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities while on the internship team:
- Participate in micro-architecture, design, and verification reviews and provide technical feedback.
- Design and develop RTL or HLS code for IP blocks.
- Analyze designs and propose improvements to PPA (power, performance, area).
- Support and develop verification infrastructure and improve verification coverage.
- Support simulation accelerators and participate in post-silicon validation activities.
Requirements
Essential qualifications and permissions required to accept the internship:
- Knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog, or HLS.
- Fundamental understanding of computer architecture and digital logic design.
- Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire.
- Intent to return to an academic degree program after completion of the internship/co-op.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with lint, synthesis, formal verification, or physical design tools.
- Scripting experience (Python or Perl) and automation skills.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing or digital signal processing techniques.
- Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving in hardware design or verification.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in or in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field (required). A Master's or PhD in these fields is listed as preferred. The role expects candidates to be actively pursuing their degree and to intend to return to their academic program after the internship.
