You will be assigned to a technical team aligned with your interests and paired with a mentor to deliver a scoped project during the internship.
Teams focus on areas such as RTL design for ML accelerators, design verification and functional validation, physical design and timing closure, and SoC integration and architecture.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship).
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Design and implement RTL for digital logic blocks using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Develop and run verification environments to validate design functionality and coverage.
- Support synthesis, timing analysis, and physical design flows.
- Debug design issues through simulation and analysis.
- Collaborate with architecture, verification, and physical design teams to take features from specification to silicon.
- Document design decisions and present work to the team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Coursework or project experience in digital logic design and computer architecture.
- Familiarity with a hardware description language (Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL).
- Understanding of combinational and sequential logic, finite state machines, timing, and clocking.
Nice-to-have:
- Practical semiconductor/ASIC design experience and ownership of SoC blocks.
- Experience with verification platforms (UVM testbench, FPGA, emulator, system testing).
- Familiarity with industry EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, or equivalent) and scripting for automation (Python, Perl, TCL, shell).
- Prior internship, research, or lab experience in chip design, embedded systems, or hardware development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
