Job Title

ASIC Engineer, Design Verification

Role Summary

Work on the Infra Silicon team to develop and verify domain-specific ASICs/SoCs for data-center workloads (e.g. video transcoding, AI/ML). Collaborate with architecture, design, emulation, and silicon validation teams to ensure designs meet verification goals.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career. Role is suitable for new graduates; candidates must complete degree prior to joining.

Responsibilities

Deliver verification coverage and close functional issues in collaboration with design teams.

• Develop functional tests from verification test plans.
• Drive design verification to closure against defined verification metrics (functional and code coverage).
• Debug and root-cause functional failures; work with designers and architects to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with design, model, emulation and silicon validation teams to ensure design quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills for the role.

• Experience with constrained-random and coverage-driven verification or C/C++ verification methodologies.
• Experience verifying an IP block using standard design verification techniques.
• Familiarity with EDA tools and scripting for verification flows (Python, Tcl, Perl, Shell).
• Understanding of at least one domain: computer architecture, CPU, GPU, networking, interconnects, or fabrics.

Nice-to-have:

• Debugging failures down to RTL and using debug tools (e.g. Verdi).
• Development of SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments from scratch.
• Verification experience with peripheral IPs (UART, SPI, I2C) and protocols (APB, AXI).
• Experience with revision control systems (Mercurial, Git, SVN) and working in CPU/GPU environments.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, VLSI, or a relevant technical field (degree must be completed prior to joining) or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Master’s degree in a similar technical field.
