ASIC Digital Verification Principal Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification efforts for Interface IP (PCIe, CXL, DDR, Ethernet). Design and implement verification environments, testbenches, and verification IP to ensure functional correctness of complex ASIC digital designs. Collaborate with design and architecture teams and mentor junior engineers.

Experience Level

Senior / Principal level — typically 7+ years of ASIC digital verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design and implement verification environments for Interface IP protocols.
• Create and execute detailed test plans to verify complex ASIC designs.
• Develop and maintain verification IP and SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches.
• Run and analyze simulations with tools such as VCS or ModelSim; perform functional coverage analysis and drive coverage closure.
• Collaborate with design and architecture teams to isolate, debug, and resolve issues.
• Mentor and guide junior verification engineers and promote verification best practices.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Extensive ASIC digital verification experience, specifically with Interface IP protocols (PCIe, CXL, DDR, Ethernet).
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies.
• Experience with simulation tools such as VCS, ModelSim, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of digital design and verification concepts and functional coverage techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal/written communication.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience developing verification IP and advanced verification methodologies.
