Job Title

ASIC Digital Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the R&D team responsible for PCI Express (PCIe) and Compute Express Link (CXL) controller IP. Build and maintain reusable UVM verification components, testbenches, and automation that the team uses to validate controller IP for data center, AI, and automotive applications.

The role combines hands-on functional verification with automation and AI-assisted development to shorten verification cycles and improve team productivity.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically 5+ years of ASIC design verification or UVM-based functional verification experience (3+ years if holding a master’s degree).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing and supporting verification infrastructure, architectures, and automation.

  • Design, deploy, and maintain reusable and configurable verification components for PCIe and CXL controller IP.
  • Develop UVM testbench architecture, agents, and test sequences for assigned verification areas.
  • Build and extend AI-assisted verification and automation flows using coding agents to create, review, and maintain testbench code, scripts, and regression infrastructure.
  • Integrate Synopsys tools into verification workflows and collaborate with infrastructure teams for compute/tool resource access.
  • Contribute to verification methodology forums and document best practices.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers on UVM, automation, and practical use of AI coding agents.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 5+ years of ASIC design verification or UVM-based functional verification experience (3+ years with a master’s degree).
  • Strong SystemVerilog and UVM skills, including testbench architecture, agents, and sequences.
  • Experience working within AI-assisted development flows and using coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages: Python, Tcl, Perl, and Unix shell.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering team.

Nice-to-have:

  • Software design best practices and experience with reusable/configurable designs.
  • Experience with revision control systems and development best practices.
  • Familiarity with the PCIe and/or CXL protocols.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Communication Engineering (the posting specifies these degrees).
