ASIC Digital Design Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Senior digital ASIC engineer responsible for designing and delivering high-performance digital circuits and supporting embedded software for ASIC projects. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate digital and analog design elements and to drive engineering execution and documentation.
This role is based in Portugal and can be performed in Porto or Lisbon.
Experience Level
Senior level (Staff). The role expects at least 3 years of hands-on ASIC digital design experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include design, verification support, and project delivery for digital ASIC projects.
- Design and implement advanced ASIC digital circuits for high-performance applications.
- Apply IC design flows and methodologies to optimize design quality and schedule.
- Collaborate with analog, verification, firmware, and systems teams to integrate solutions.
- Use industry-standard EDA tools and RTL (Verilog/VHDL) for design and implementation.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain embedded software that supports ASIC projects.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Coordinate multiple technical deliverables and manage project timelines.
Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of ASIC digital design or closely related experience.
- Proven experience with IC design flows, methodologies, and EDA tools.
- Solid understanding of digital and analog design principles.
- Proficiency with embedded software development and maintenance.
- Practical experience with RTL development (Verilog or VHDL).
- Strong technical reporting and documentation skills.
- Project coordination or project management experience delivering technical deliverables.
- Nice-to-have: experience in high-performance semiconductor designs, verification flows, or domain experience in automotive/AI-related projects.
Education Requirements
University degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science is expected, or equivalent practical experience.
