Job Title
ASIC Digital Design Sr Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Lead RTL development for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) PHY IP, working at the intersection of digital, mixed-signal, and physical design. Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to translate architecture and standards into high-quality, production-ready RTL and support the ASIC/IP flow through silicon debug and release.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 7β10 years of hands-on ASIC/RTL design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and deliver RTL implementations for HBM PHY IP using SystemVerilog/Verilog.
- Translate architectural requirements and industry-standard specifications into RTL and verification deliverables.
- Collaborate with analog, mixed-signal, and physical-design teams to ensure integration and performance targets.
- Address physical implementation challenges including timing closure, low-power strategies, and high-speed design constraints.
- Create and maintain specification documents and provide technical guidance across teams and sites.
- Automate design and verification tasks with scripting to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Support the full ASIC/IP flow from concept through silicon debug and production release.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 7β10 years of RTL design experience, including work on high-speed digital and mixed-signal interfaces.
- Proficient in SystemVerilog and Verilog for RTL development.
- Strong background in high-speed design, timing closure, and low-power design techniques.
- Experience across the ASIC/IP development flow, including DFT/DFM and hardware debug.
- Scripting proficiency (Python, Perl, Tcl) to automate tasks.
- Familiarity with modeling analog/mixed-signal behavior and awareness of physical implementation challenges.
- Ability to produce clear, detailed specification and design documents and to support cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with physically aware synthesis.
- Experience with DDR/HBM DRAM interfaces and UCIe technologies.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
