Job Title
ASIC DFT Engineer
Role Summary
As an ASIC DFT Engineer on the Common Hardware Group (Silicon One development), you will define and implement design-for-test strategies, DFT IP, and validation flows across RTL, physical design, and post-silicon phases. The role integrates with front-end, verification, and backend teams to ensure testability, debug, and diagnostics for networking ASICs.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Requires at least 5 years of relevant DFT and silicon engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Implement DFT features to support ATE, in-system test, debug, and diagnostics.
- Develop DFT IP and integrate test logic into RTL and full-chip designs.
- Collaborate with RTL, design-verification, and physical design teams through implementation, signoff, and post-silicon validation.
- Participate in DFT and physical design for new device models (bare die and stacked die) and drive reusable test/debug strategies.
- Lead DFT and quality processes and perform debug with minimal mentorship.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience with JTAG, scan architectures, BIST (including memory BIST), and boundary scan.
- Experience with ATPG and EDA tools such as TestMax, Tetramax, Tessent tool sets, and PrimeTime.
- Gate-level simulation and debugging experience using VCS or similar simulators.
- Post-silicon validation and debug experience, including work with ATE patterns and P1687.
- Verilog design experience for custom DFT logic and IP integration; familiarity with functional verification.
- Test static timing analysis and test-timing validation skills.
- Verification skills including SystemVerilog logic equivalency checking.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with innovative or advanced DFT/test architectures and next-generation silicon test methodologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required. The posting also specifies at least 5 years of relevant experience in DFT/silicon engineering.
