Job Title
ASIC DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Design-for-Test (DFT) engineer on the Silicon One hardware team responsible for defining and implementing testability and debug features across RTL, physical implementation, and post-silicon validation. Collaborate with front-end RTL, backend physical design, and test teams to integrate DFT IP and support production-level test and diagnostics.
Experience Level
Senior β requires at least 7 years of relevant experience in DFT, test, or silicon engineering.
Responsibilities
Accountable for DFT architecture, integration, and validation from RTL through post-silicon. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure testability, debugability, and ATE readiness.
- Implement hardware DFT features to support ATE, in-system test, debug, and diagnostics.
- Develop and integrate DFT IP in collaboration with RTL, verification, and physical design teams.
- Drive full-chip testability integration and validate test logic during implementation and post-silicon phases.
- Participate in DFT and physical-design decisions for new device models including bare die and stacked die.
- Debug silicon and test failures with minimal mentorship and contribute to reusable test and debug strategies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and tools; preferred items labeled.
-
Must-have: Practical experience with JTAG, scan architectures, and BIST (including memory BIST and boundary scan).
-
Must-have: Experience with ATPG and EDA toolsets such as TestMax, Tetramax, Tessent, and PrimeTime.
-
Must-have: Gate-level simulation and debugging experience (e.g., VCS) and post-silicon validation using ATE patterns; familiarity with P1687.
-
Must-have: Experience integrating DFT logic at RTL and coordinating across front-end and physical-design teams.
-
Nice-to-have: Verilog design and functional verification experience; SystemVerilog logic equivalency checking.
-
Nice-to-have: DFT CAD development, test architecture/methodology, and test static timing analysis.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field is required (as stated in the posting).
