Job Title
ASIC DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Common Hardware Group within the Silicon One development organization as an ASIC Design-for-Test (DFT) Engineer. The role drives DFT requirements and integration across front-end RTL, back-end physical design, implementation, and post-silicon validation for high-performance networking ASICs.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
The engineer will define, implement, and validate DFT solutions across the full chip lifecycle.
- Specify and implement hardware DFT features supporting ATE, in-system test, debug and diagnostics.
- Develop and integrate DFT IP with RTL and full-chip design flows.
- Collaborate with RTL design, design-verification, and physical design teams to enable test logic integration and validation during implementation and post-silicon phases.
- Drive reusable test and debug strategies for new device models (bare die, stacked die).
- Lead DFT and quality processes through implementation signoff and post-silicon validation.
- Debug complex silicon/test failures with minimal supervision.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 7+ years of industry experience in DFT, test, or silicon engineering.
- Hands-on experience with JTAG protocols, scan architectures, and BIST (including memory BIST and boundary scan).
- Practical experience with ATPG and EDA tools such as TestMax, Tetramax, Tessent tool sets, and PrimeTime.
- Gate-level simulation and debugging experience using simulators (e.g., VCS).
- Post-silicon validation and debug experience, including work with ATE patterns and P1687.
Nice-to-have / preferred:
- Verilog experience for custom DFT logic and IP integration.
- DFT CAD development experience: test architecture, methodology, and infrastructure.
- Test static timing analysis (Test STA) expertise.
- SystemVerilog skills for logic equivalency checking and validating test timing.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required (as stated in the posting).
