ASIC DFT Engineer
Cisco SystemsJob Title
ASIC DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and integrate design-for-test (DFT) features and IP for Cisco silicon. Work within the Common Hardware Group to enable testability, debug, and diagnostics across RTL, implementation, and post-silicon validation flows for switching, routing, and wireless platforms.
Experience Level
Mid-level - 4 to 8 years of relevant ASIC DFT, test, or silicon engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities involve implementing and validating test logic, developing reusable DFT IP, and supporting silicon bring-up and debugging.
- Implement DFT features to support ATE, in-system test, debug, and diagnostics.
- Develop reusable DFT IP and integrate testability into RTL and full-chip design flows.
- Coordinate with design, verification, and product development teams for test logic integration and validation.
- Contribute to DFT and physical-design strategies for new device models, including bare die and stacked die.
- Perform gate-level simulation and debug test-timing and silicon issues.
- Provide solutions and debug with minimal mentorship during implementation and post-silicon validation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 4β8 years of ASIC DFT, test, or silicon engineering experience.
- Practical knowledge of DFT, test methodologies, and silicon engineering practices.
- Experience with JTAG protocols, scan architectures, memory BIST, and boundary scan.
- Experience with ATPG and EDA toolsets such as TestMax, Tetramax, Tessent, and PrimeTime.
- Verification skills including SystemVerilog logic equivalency checking and test-timing validation.
- Experience with gate-level simulation and debugging using VCS or similar simulators.
Nice-to-have:
- Post-silicon validation and ATE pattern experience; familiarity with P1687.
- Scripting skills: Tcl, Python, or Perl.
- Strong verbal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required.
