ASIC Design & Verification Engineer (Sr. Staff)

Role Summary

Lead RTL design and verification of HBM controller IP for SoC applications. Work within a global engineering team to define micro-architecture, verification strategy, and testbench infrastructure, and provide technical leadership and mentoring.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design and implement RTL-based HBM controller IP for SoC products.
• Translate functional specifications into detailed micro-architectures and make architectural decisions.
• Define and execute verification strategies, including SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches.
• Create and maintain verification plans, coverage metrics, and checker definitions.
• Lead design reviews and coordinate with global cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
• Document progress and generate verification reports with measurable metrics.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Hands-on RTL design and micro-architecture development from specifications.
• Verification methodologies (UVM/VMM/OVM), SystemVerilog, and object-oriented verification techniques.
• Experience with SoC/ASIC design flows, verification planning, and coverage-driven verification.
• Familiarity with simulation tools and Unix environments.
• Scripting skills: Perl, Python, TCL.
• Protocol knowledge: DDR, PCIe, AMBA (AXI/CHI), SD/eMMC, Ethernet, USB, MIPI.
• Strong English communication and technical documentation skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Formal verification experience.
• Firmware or embedded software development (C/C++).
• Functional safety experience (ISO 26262, FMEDA).

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 9+ years of relevant experience, or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with 7+ years of relevant experience. (These degree-and-experience combinations are specified.)
