Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute verification plans and test strategies for ASIC/SoC blocks.
- Design and implement verification environments, testbenches, and harnesses.
- Create and maintain directed tests, constrained-random tests, and coverage-driven verification.
- Debug functional failures, analyze root causes, and work with design teams on fixes.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and firmware engineers to clarify requirements and interfaces.
- Contribute to verification automation, metrics tracking, and continuous improvement of verification flows.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior verification engineers.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications (summary):
- Must-have: Several years of ASIC/SoC digital verification experience at a senior level; strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Must-have: Experience developing verification environments and testbenches; familiarity with constrained-random verification and coverage-driven methodologies.
- Must-have: Proficiency with industry verification languages and tools (e.g., SystemVerilog/UVM and logic simulators) and scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Tcl).
- Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation, formal verification, or FPGA prototyping; experience integrating firmware/software into verification environments.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience working in cross-functional teams on complex SoC projects and mentoring junior engineers.
