ASIC Design Verification Engineer / Senior
QualcommJob Title
ASIC Design Verification Engineer / Senior
Role Summary
Work on verification of Ethernet switch ASIC blocks from module to subsystem level. Develop testbenches, write assertions and coverage, perform emulation/FPGA validation, and collaborate with architecture and RTL teams to close verification and support pre/post-silicon debug.
Experience Level
Senior-level. See Education Requirements for the posting's minimum years-of-experience tied to degree level.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building and executing verification environments, debugging silicon issues, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Develop testbenches and testcases for Ethernet switch verification at module through subsystem levels.
- Implement assertions (SVA), functional coverage, and coverage-driven verification strategies.
- Use emulation and FPGA platforms for validation and bring-up.
- Collaborate with architecture and RTL design teams on micro-architecture, testplans, and verification closure.
- Support pre-silicon and post-silicon debug with Design/Verification Integration teams.
- Maintain regression suites and analyze coverage to drive closure.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote verification best practices.
Requirements
Technical and interpersonal requirements. Degree and explicit years-of-experience are listed under Education Requirements.
- Proven ASIC verification experience using SystemVerilog and UVM; knowledge of assertions (SVA) and coverage-driven methodology.
- Experience with emulation and FPGA-based validation.
- Familiarity with Ethernet switching concepts: L2/L3 forwarding, bridging, routing, packet-processing pipelines, and basic QoS (queuing, scheduling).
- Experience with pre- and post-silicon debug techniques.
- Fluent in Chinese and English, both written and verbal.
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to meet tight schedules.
- Nice-to-have: scripting/programming skills (C/C++, Tcl, Perl) and experience mentoring junior engineers.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with 1+ year of relevant experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
