QualcommJob Title
ASIC Design Verification Engineer - Senior
Role Summary
The role owns block- and chip-level verification for digital power IPs across the full lifecycle: pre-silicon planning, testbench development, coverage and assertion development, formal verification, power-aware UPF flows, and post-silicon support.
The position sits on an ASIC verification team and focuses on improving verification efficiency through automation and advanced methodologies.
Experience Level
Senior. Preferred experience is 6+ years in ASIC design and verification; minimum experience varies by degree (see Education Requirements for degree-linked minimums).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and execute pre-silicon test plans for digital power IPs.
- Design and implement block-level testbenches using SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Develop functional coverage and assertion models; perform property checking and formal verification where applicable.
- Implement and validate power-aware verification flows (UPF) for low-power designs.
- Automate verification tasks and develop scripts/tools to improve efficiency.
- Support integration, validation, and post-silicon bring-up and debug.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and firmware teams to close verification gaps.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience (concise):
- Proven experience with ASIC design and verification tools, techniques, and methodology; familiarity with RTL verification flows.
- Hands-on experience building testbenches and verification environments using SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Experience developing functional coverage and assertion-based checks.
- Practical experience or exposure to formal verification/property checking.
- Scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python or Perl) to support verification flows.
Nice-to-have:
- Extensive (6+ years) experience in digital design and verification, C/C++ programming, or VHDL.
- Experience with AMBA bus protocols (AXI/AHB/APB).
- Deep experience with power-aware verification methodologies and UPF.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field (typically with 2+ years ASIC experience), OR Master's degree in Science/Engineering or related field (typically with 1+ year ASIC experience), OR PhD in Science/Engineering or a related field. Preferred: Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
