Job Title

ASIC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Verify functional correctness and performance of AI inference ASICs by developing verification strategies, test plans, and SystemVerilog UVM environments. Collaborate with design, architecture, FPGA/emulation, and validation teams to achieve coverage-driven verification and reliable silicon bring-up.

Hybrid role based in Austin, TX, focused on pre-silicon and post-silicon validation of complex accelerator chips.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 8+ years of ASIC verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute verification strategies and comprehensive test plans for AI inference ASICs.
  • Design, implement, and maintain SystemVerilog UVM verification environments and simulation testbenches.
  • Create directed and constrained-random tests; drive coverage-driven verification and closure.
  • Collaborate with design and architecture teams to identify and close functional gaps.
  • Debug design issues and perform root-cause analysis in pre-silicon and post-silicon validation.
  • Work with FPGA and emulation teams for early hardware validation.
  • Manage verification schedules, deliverables, and risk mitigation plans.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 8+ years of ASIC verification experience.
  • Expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Experience with industry-standard EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics).
  • Proven testbench development, verification planning, and coverage methodologies.
  • Proficiency with debugging tools, waveform analysis, and scripting (Python, Perl, or TCL).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML accelerators, memory subsystems, and high-speed interconnects.
  • Experience with FPGA/emulation-based validation and post-silicon bring-up.

Nice-to-have:

  • Hardware-software co-verification experience.
  • Knowledge of formal verification techniques.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required. An advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant field is listed as a plus.
